WELCOME
Sacred Heart School is a co-educational primary school located in the coastal town of Yeppoon.  At Sacred Heart School, we endeavour to hold the message of Jesus Christ at the heart of all we do. This message permeates our relationships, decisions, our teaching and learning.

Sacred Heart is a school where our children are nurtured spiritually, academically, emotionally, socially, physically and culturally.  We offer a myriad of learning opportunities including instrumental music and choral programs, a well-developed Arts program, sports including netball, soccer, rugby league, swimming and AFL, the teaching of Japanese and the MJR (Making Jesus Real) program.

We hope you enjoy perusing our website.

COMMUNITY NEWS

HAPPY EASTER
Easter is the most important event in our Christian calendar. I hope you use the break to not only relax, perhaps shop or fish and eat chocolate eggs. I also hope you take the time on Easter Sunday to attend a commemoration of the greatest event in human history, the rising of Jesus from the dead.  Have a wonderful break, everyone. For those travelling, be safe and I look forward to seeing everyone on Monday 19th April to commence Term 2.

YEAR 3 PASSOVER MEAL
Yesterday, our Year 3 classes shared a Passover meal as part of their Religious Education studies. Thank you to Mrs Acharya, Mrs Sloper and Miss Wigginton for providing this wonderful learning experience. Following are some of our children's thoughts on this event:
  • During the Passover feast, we learnt you do not eat with a knife and fork. Kane
  • The food eaten during a Passover feast is very basic, for example, lettuce, egg and lamb. Max
  • During the Passover meal, you lean to the left and eat with your right hand. Paige
  • We learnt some of the Hebrew words said during a passover meal. Charlie B
  • We had to eat the food in a certain order. Mason
  • We learnt a Hebrew song called, “The Four Question Song”. Avah
  • We all loved dressing up in a robe, headwear, shash as a belt, sandals. Kane, Max, Paige, Charlie B, Mason, Avah.
